Aldi Süd in Butzbach

43,000 m² roof area on the Aldi central depot in Butzbach, Germany. The green roofing is shown here eight months after building started.

One of the main reasons for Aldi Süd’s decision was to save on energy costs as the warehouse is 8 to 10 degrees cooler in summer.
