Binding dust and pollutants

The layer of vegetation binds dust and pollutants in the air to a considerable degree. This also helps to reduce particle pollution in cities.

Air conditioning

Let your green roof sweat for you in summer. The coolness generated during evaporation will actively cool rooms located under the roof. When rooms are not air-conditioned, this generates a pleasant atmosphere, even on hot days. Energy costs can also be saved in this way when rooms are air-conditioned. This alone means that a green roof pays off within one to two years in many cases.

Improving the climate

Not only the climate in a room can be improved by a green roof. The roof area is prevented from heating up and heat generated through reflection is avoided. A genuine contribution to climate protection, particularly in densely built-up areas.

Increased water retention

Approximately 50–70% of precipitation is retained by a green roof. This considerably relieves pressure on wastewater systems.

Free area to use

Intensive green roofing can be used as a roof terrace or roof garden. But a green roof is an aesthetic upgrade for your roof in all cases.

Noise protection

The green roof prevents noise from penetrating into the house. Noise from aeroplanes and traffic is reduced in the rooms under the roof.

In the reverse case, a green roof also helps when noise is not meant to penetrate to the outside. It ensures, in this way, lower environmental pollution when installed on factory and commercial properties.

Protection from electromagnetic rays

Scientific tests have shown that a green roof provides protection from the effects of electromagnetic rays.

Longer life for the roof

Green roofing reduces temperatures on the roof from approx. 80 °C to below 25 °C. It actively supports roof sealing from damaging UV rays and forms a barrier for the influences of the weather like hail or storms. Given these conditions, the roof sealing will retain its effect for about twice as long as under normal circumstances.

Cost saving

Green roofing saves cash. Depending on the district, subsidies and a reduction in rainwater fees may be possible. Reduced air-conditioning and energy costs plus a longer life for the roof all add up to make your roof a high-return investment.
